Align Your Habits with Who You Want to Be
Hi ,
I hope you are experiencing a beautiful completion of 2024.
We’ve spent the last four weeks reconnecting with our internal foundations—our purpose, joy, and passion—to finish the year strong. This final week is about taking all that insight and applying it to creating more of what you want in the new year. Becoming more of who you want to be.
Finish Strong - Setting Powerful Intentions
Research shows that intentional habits linked to identity shifts are more sustainable and fulfilling than outcome-based goals. By focusing on your becoming, you’ll build a lifestyle that supports growth, joy, and resilience every day.
This week, we’ll set intentions to align your habits with your vision for 2025 and create a foundation for thriving.
Apply & Practice
Day 1: Envision Your Future Self
Activity: Consider everything you've learned about yourself the last few weeks and write a brief description of the person you want to be in 2025.
What values define this version of me?
What habits are second nature to this person?
How does this person move through their day?
Breathing Integration: Close your eyes and take five deep breaths. As you inhale, visualize stepping into this version of yourself. Exhale and release any habits that feel out of alignment.
Day 2: Intention Over Goals
Activity: Define three intentions for 2025 that reflect your becoming. Intentions center the For example:
“I will prioritize connection by reaching out to one person each week.”
“I will cultivate internal peace by starting each day with 5 minutes of mindfulness.”
“I will embody vitality by moving my body daily.”
Breathing Integration: With each breath, let these intentions settle into your mind and heart. Inhale commitment, exhale resistance.
Day 3: Daily Alignments
Activity: Write down three small daily habits that align with your intentions. Examples:
Drink a full glass of water before your morning coffee.
Write down one thing you’re grateful for each evening.
Take 10 deep breaths before responding to an email.
Breathing Integration: Breathe deeply as you visualize embracing these simple habits and see how they support your becoming.
Day 4: Anticipate the Journey
Activity: Reflect on the beauty of the pursuit, not just the destination. Prepare for imperfection because you are human. Write about:
How will I stay present and joyful as I work toward these intentions?
What will I savor about the journey itself?
When I get off track, how will I come back into alignment?
Breathing Integration: Inhale the excitement of growth, exhale impatience. Embrace the unfolding process. Allow the discomfort of change.
Bonus Activity: Capture Your Commitment
Activity: Create a “becoming board.” Include words, images, colors, or a written statement that reflects the person you are becoming. Display it somewhere visible to inspire you daily.
Breathing Integration: With each breath, affirm: “I am becoming who I’m meant to be.”
Becoming isn’t a finish line; it’s a daily practice of aligning your actions with your values and vision. This week’s practices are about grounding your intentions in who you are and who you’re becoming. Step into 2025 with clarity, purpose, and joy—because the journey is just as beautiful as the destination.
Here's to a brilliant year of becoming, together.
Keep growing,
Jamie
